Aldar Properties
Est. 2004 · Dubai, UAE
Abu Dhabi's largest developer, bringing government-backed master planning to Dubai.
Developer Information
Aldar Properties was founded in Abu Dhabi in 2004, around the time the UAE opened property ownership to foreign buyers, and was listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange in 2005. Its largest shareholder is Alpha Dhabi Holding, a government-linked investment company.
Originally the master developer behind Abu Dhabi's most iconic addresses - Yas Island, Saadiyat Island, Al Raha Beach, and Reem Island - Aldar has expanded significantly into Dubai. Active Dubai projects include Haven in Dubailand, a wellness-led community of townhouses and villas, and Al Deem Townhomes.
Today, Aldar operates across development, property management, education, and hospitality, with its portfolio reaching AED 47 billion in assets under management by the end of 2025. Internationally, the company has a presence in Egypt through SODIC and in the UK through London Square. Aldar is publicly listed and backed by strong government institutional support, giving it a stability that distinguishes it from most private developers.
